Rachel K. Henry RDH, MS is an assistant professor in the Division of Dental Hygiene at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.  She holds a BS in Dental Hygiene and a MS in Allied Medical Education from the Ohio State University. She was the 2009 Recipient of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association Future Leader Award.  Rachel is currently the treasurer of the Ohio Dental Hygienists’ Association and serves on the American Dental Hygienists’ Association’s Council on Education. Rachel is also a 2014 fellow in the ADEA Leadership Institute. She is also a Quality Matters peer reviewer. She teaches ethics, professionalism and courses in the education specialization to undergraduate and graduate dental hygiene students. Rachel’s research focus is social media professionalism for health care providers. In her online courses she strives to make the student feel like they are part of the class and engages students on a regular basis through synchronous class sessions. She requires students to use a high level of technology in her courses and finds that even though there is a learning curve it enhances the students experience in online courses.
