Online BSN to Doctor of Nursing Practice

Ohio State’s BSN to DNP program positions nurses as leaders ready to transform health care. Students who have previously earned their bachelor of science in nursing will earn both their master’s degree and DNP degree as part of this online program.

BSN to DNP students are eligible for certification in one of the college’s advanced practice specialties, including the new Nurse Anesthesia specialty track. Collaborate with world-class faculty and peers from across the country while taking the next step in your career.

Campus Requirements: 100% online coursework. Students are encouraged to attend an on-campus orientation at the start of the program and are required to present and defend their final project on campus at the conclusion. 
Note: Two tracks do incorporate brief on-campus learning opportunities and skill assessments.

Class Format: Most classes are offered in a synchronous format, meaning you have a scheduled date and time you must log in to attend. Synchronous courses typically meet weekly on Wednesdays or Thursdays.  

Credit Hours Required: 72

Admission Requirements: Completed Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Nursing, active RN license, minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale in the last degree earned that is relevant to the program of study, completion of prerequisite course with a B- or higher

Time to Completion: Students attending on a full-time basis can complete the program in 3 years (8 semesters). Those attending part-time can complete the program over 4 years (11 semesters)
