Transfer Application for Associate of Arts
This application is for transfer students who are interested in the online Associate of Arts degree in either general studies or social and behavioral science. A transfer student is someone who has previously received college credit.
Application for Associate of Arts
This application is for freshman/new to college students who are interested in the online Associate of Arts degree in either general studies or social and behavioral science. Someone using this application should have no prior college credit.
Undergraduate Application for Associate and Professional Bachelor's Degrees
This application is for all undergraduate, professional online programs. These are considered those that require a license to apply (i.e. RN to BSN) and does include the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences.
Application for Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science
This application is for the Bachelor of Science in Social Work and the Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science.
Application for Professional Undergraduate Certificates
This application is for all professional undergraduate certificates (i.e. Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology Undergraduate Certificate) as well as American Sign Language for basic teaching certificate. These are certificates related to a medical field, specific licensure, or specific to teaching ASL.
Application for Undergraduate Certificates
This application is for all professional undergraduate certificates (i.e. Black Studies). These are undergraduate certificates that are not related to the medical field or a specific licensure.

Application for Master's and Doctoral Degrees
This application is for all graduate degrees (i.e. Master in Social Work).
Application for Graduate Certificates
This application is for all graduate certificates (i.e. Clinical Research Management Graduate Certificate).

Application Preparation
- Check your degree or undergraduate certificate’s admission criteria. Unsure of what that is? Please use our program finder below to find the degree or certificate and look for the tab for Admission Criteria.
- Be sure to note the Application Deadline!
- Personal Statement – This is required for those who have not continuously been enrolled in any school.
- Application Fee – This is a nonrefundable $60 fee ($70 for international students).
As you work through your application, you can always save it and come back to it!
Transcripts
- Official transcripts are required.
- Where possible, please request an electronic transcript be submitted. In Ohio, all transcripts can be submitted electronically.
- If your school does not offer electronic delivery, please have your transcript(s) mailed to:

Columbus, OH 43218-2646. - Transcripts should not be sent to the student or sent to another Ohio State office. Doing so will prevent their acceptance as an official transcript.
- Submitting an in-process transcript may be acceptable, but please talk to one of our Enrollment Advisors to be sure!
International Students
Success at Ohio State depends upon your ability to converse in, write and understand English. The university requires official TOEFL, Duolingo or IELTS Academic test scores from applicants:
- whose native language is not English,
- who have been educated primarily outside of the U.S., or
- who have held U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee status for less than one year from the first term of enrollment.

- You will need letters of recommendation so have your references handy for sending them automated email requests.
- You may also be required to write a personal statement and/or submit your curriculum vitae (resume).

- Submit your unofficial transcripts for consideration.
- Your official transcripts will need to be submitted before the end of your first semester as an enrolled student.
International Students

What Happens after I Complete my Application?
Your Enrollment Advisor will keep you apprised of your application status. We know that waiting for that decision can be hard, but each degree or certificate will have their own review timing. Once that decision is made, you will hear right away.
