Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS)

Some resources are available online for any time, anywhere access through Ohio State's Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS)

Ongoing individual therapy services are limited to those in the state of Ohio.

Out-of-state online students can schedule a phone screen appointment for support or recommendations and for referral/linkage in their area. Drop-in "Let's Talk" consultations are available to all students, regardless of location.

CCS does not currently provide telehealth/teletherapy services to out-of-state students because laws for treatment provision using telecommunication technologies vary by state, and most states require that the therapist is licensed in the state where their client resides.

For tips on how to find a therapist in your area or a teletherapy provider, visit ccs.osu.edu/self-help.

ScreenU, an alcohol risk assessment provided by Ohio State, is based on evidence-based strategies called Screen, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Technology. If you or someone you know is misusing alcohol, marijuana, or prescription drugs, this tool can help provide feedback and strategies to reduce their risk of experiencing negative consequences from their use.
